Its fifty stars represent who we are now: a collection of states. States made stronger and whole by their union just as any constellation of stars in the night sky. The colors—red for valor, white for purity, blue for vigilance, perseverance, and justice—are a relentless hope for the future. Our flag symbolizes our highest ideals. We will rally around it. We will not be deterred. And, we will not yield.
